An opportunity is now available for a Senior Financial Accountant to join our Finance team at our head Office located in the Grounds of Alexandria.
The Senior Financial Accountant is a senior member of the Australian Financial Control team, focusing on the financial reporting for all GenesisCare Australia’s Joint Ventures and Research Organisations. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the achievement of business objectives.
Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements for GenesisCare’s Joint Ventures and Research Organisations.
• Engaging directly with JV Board members and key stakeholders.
• Completion and periodic distribution of reporting to Boards, external stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.
• Ensuring adherence to Australian Accounting Standards and company policies.
• Implementing and maintaining robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards.
• Coordinating and facilitating external audits (or agreed upon procedures), liaising with auditors, and addressing audit queries.
• Key finance contact for any future M&A activity for GenesisCare’s Joint Ventures and Research Organisations.
• Contributing to the success of GC’s financial risk management strategies.
• Contributing to the development and execution of the company's financial strategy and long-term planning. Identifying opportunities for growth and profitability.
• A key stakeholder in maintaining and testing GenesisCare’s financial systems and technology to streamline processes and improve efficiency in financial operations.
• Staying updated with changes in financial regulations and ensuring the organization's compliance with relevant laws and reporting requirements.

We're interested in hearing from people who have:

• Significant experience in Senior financial accounting roles.
• Bachelor’s degree or experience considered equivalent.
• CA or CPA qualifications (or international equivalent)
• Experience in a financial accounting role/function with ownership of monthly close accounting process.
• Strong technical understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and Tax Law.
• A proven track record in influencing important stakeholders.
• Adaptability to and management of change and organisational transformation in high growth corporate environments.
