About the Role
The Finance team at Village Cinemas are searching for someone who is seeking the next step in their career and who has a passion for driving financial success within the business. As the Senior Financial Accountant, you will work across various exciting projects whilst leading financial processes and mentoring a team of highly skilled, collaborative, results-driven individuals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the team with month end financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, cashflow reporting, working capital reporting, analysis and management of financial presentations
- Continuously assessing, managing, and improving financial processes
- Leading various financial projects, including; the design, development and documentation of project strategies and plans and communicating these with team members and business stakeholders
- Mentor and guide team members within the Finance team
- Maintaining financial accounts, master data and system process flows
- Assisting the Finance Manager in external audits
- Key contact point for Group Shared Services with a focus on process optimisation
About you
You are someone who embodies a genuine passion for finance with a proven track record in financial process optimisation. You have the ability to drive efficiency and accuracy in financial processes, leading key projects, and in providing mentorship to team members while upholding industry standards. You can navigate complex financial tasks with speed and accuracy. You have a positive attitude and enjoy a collaborative and productive work environment with colleagues who foster teamwork and shared success.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualification within accounting/finance including CPA/CA certification.
- Proven experience in managing and maintaining financial reporting systems
- Proven experience in managing completion of month end financial reporting requirements
- Proven experience in identifying process improvement opportunities and executing through transformational project management practices
- Strong stakeholder and customer engagement abilities including influencing, negotiation and communication skills
- Excellent time management and organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional computer skills (including Excel, reporting tools, experience in SAP is highly regarded)
