How you'll make a difference:
The Senior Financial Accountant role will oversee the financial reporting obligations of Department of Health, including responsibility for high quality financial management including preparation of monthly and annual financial information requests by Department of Treasury and Finance, financial analysis, statutory compliance, monthly accounting, preparation of internal and external financial reports and continuous improvement.
Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate:
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in relevant areas such as Accounting, Finance or similar related disciplines. CPA or CA qualifications would be desirable
- Experience and understanding in financial accounting and relevant legislation including the Financial Management Act 1994, government financial management frameworks and accounting standards
- Experience in statutory report preparation
