This Growing Family Office comprises multiple entities with operations located in Australia, France, Monaco and the United States. Business activities cover residential and industrial property development, the operation of a superyacht fleet, a global yacht charter and sales business, a SaaS startup and passive investment activities including listed and unlisted share portfolios and investments in regenerative health.
The Opportunity
An ideal role for a first or second mover from practice, this role will be highly hands-on offering daily challenges and incentives. As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting all divisions within the Family Office, collaborating closely with stakeholders throughout the group. A key focus will be overseeing the financial aspects of the Group’s residential and industrial property development activities.
Reporting directly to the CFO, this role will incorporate both technical and commercial aspects including:
- Supervising and mentoring a team of junior accountants and bookkeepers. The finance teams currently includes 8 people (including the CFO and off-shore team members) and is growing.
- Managing financial aspects of the Group’s residential and industrial property development activities including undertaking feasibilities, budgets, liaising with banking partners, performance analysis and regular reporting.
- Seeking out and implementation of systems and processes for the various business units.
- Assisting with the preparation of annual financial reports and tax compliance matters.
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly management reports.
This role will be located at the Group’s head office in the Sydney CBD.
Your Skills & Experience
- Degree in accounting (or similar) with a CA qualification.
- Minimum 2 years post CA qualification experience.
- The role will strongly suite someone from a mid-tier practice background with experience dealing with the financial aspects of large-scale property developments.
- Excellent technical skills and demonstrated experience with Australian accounting standards and Australian taxation.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Xero skills.
- Strong financial modelling skills.
- Strong interest in the continuous improvement of systems and process.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter and ability to work autonomously.
