Our opportunity
As Senior Financial Accountant - Funds Management, you will be a true finance business partner to the Funds Management team. You will actively contribute and support the financial planning and management accounting for the platform, and interact with finance and non-finance stakeholders. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Financial Accountant or Big 4 first mover to gain experience within a dynamic and growing team, with responsibility over financial & management accounting, FP&A and tax compliance.
Your responsibilities will include:
Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Preparation and presentation of business performance to key stakeholders
- Preparation and presentation of budgets and forecast including analysis packs and commentary
- Perform strategic financial analysis and where relevant due diligence for transactions including acquisitions and disposals.
- Preparation of investor relation and group reporting templates required for the half-year and annual financial reporting cycle.
Financial Control:
- Preparation and presentation of monthly management reporting including accurate analysis on profit & loss, balance sheet and cash flow movements.
- Provide supervision, coaching and guidance to team members (including those offshore) on reconciliations and calculations, general ledger postings, processing, and output of reports.
- Preparation of statutory accounts, board reporting and other requests as required.
- Ensure compliance with Australian Financial Services license requirements and preparation of required reporting.
Tax Compliance:
- Assist with the preparation of monthly Business Activity Statement compliance, income tax calculations and returns.
Stakeholder Management:
- Analyse and respond to queries, issues, and other requests from internal and external stakeholders.
- Build strong relationships with external stakeholders such as auditors and tax advisors to ensure smooth delivery of requests and proactive management through the reporting periods.
Other:
- Ensure robust and reliable controls are in place and operating effectively.
- Assist with process efficiency review and documentation, maintenance of offshore work procedures.
- Identify and champion improvements in financial and general accounting procedures and systems (including Bi, Anaplan and ERP transformation).
- Participate in transformation projects, e.g., Mirvac Next.
- Other ad hoc duties as required.
Your point of difference
To be successful you will be CA/CPA qualified with strong technical accounting skills. You have prior experience using accounting packages (Yardi, Anaplan, PowerBI) and strong Excel capability (modelling skills preferred). You have well-developed communication skills (written and verbal) with excellent interpersonal skills to build robust relationships with colleagues across the business. You are self-motivated with a can-do attitude and possess the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines. You have great attention to detail, well-developed analytical skills and the ability to problem solve.
