You'll be responsible for
- Monitor investment accounting outsourcing provider performance against agreed service levels to ensure investment accounting deliverables are accurate and completed in line with agreed timetables.
- Design and execute effective and efficient controls to mitigate outsourcing risks.
- Oversee investment accounting close, reconciliations and control processes performed by the outsource provider so that the status and issues are proactively identified communicated, and appropriately managed.
- Advise on and respond to queries and requests relating to the accounting treatment, data and reporting of investments.
- Manage change processes which support continuous improvement of the service delivery model.
- Lead the preparation of Tax Effect Accounting (at an entity level for Allianz Australia and related entities) so that tax accounting balances are reported timely and accurately.
About you
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline with relevant certification as a Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) or equivalent.
- Significant experience in developing and implementing internal control and governance, policies and procedures based on the regulatory requirements and leading continuous improvement initiatives to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Experience in investment accounting and the application of accounting standards relating to financial instruments or experience in preparing Tax Effect Accounting for a financial institution.
- Knowledgeable in Australian taxation and APRA reporting requirements relating to investments.
- Experience in managing outsource and/or offshore provider service levels and relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively partner and collaborate with stakeholders of varying levels of seniority to establish strong professional relationships and influence outcomes.
