About the role
The Senior Financial Analyst will support the strategic objectives of the PHN by providing agile, innovative, efficient, cost effective and robust internal financial management services to maximise funding for the primary care sector in our region. The successful candidate will provide investment and cashflow reporting to the PHN Board level, whilst also assisting with the development and maintenance of the PHN budgets and forecasts. This position will also be responsible for financial management reporting to assist managers to understand their budget along with analysis and advice to support the PHN to achieve value for money when commissioning services.
The Senior Financial Analyst will take on a leadership position within the finance and reporting space and will coach and develop PHN staff to help them to increase their financial literacy.
The successful candidate will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting/finance or working towards tertiary qualifications with at least 5 years experience in a similar role.
- Completed CA or CPA Qualifications (or in the process of completing).
- Demonstrated competence in the use of accounting software and MS Office suite.
- Experience in preparing financial reports.
- Demonstrated ability to: develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, effectively communicate and explain financial concepts to non-accountants; and provide expert financial advice on budgets, forecasts, cashflow and expenditure.

*Salary: This role is classified as Grade L – P within our Enterprise Agreement and the rate will be dependent on skills and experience/qualifications. New appointments are generally between grade L – M.
