About the role:
As Senior Financial Accountant - Transactional Services, you'll play a key role in overseeing Transactional Services and leading a talented team.
Core responsibilities:
- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables for timely issue resolution and data accuracy.
- Demonstrate financial leadership in regulatory compliance, commercial acumen, and budgetary management.
- Lead month-end financial reporting with accurate and timely results.
- Assist in developing Corporate Plan and budget documents.
- Manage debt and treasury functions, ensuring accurate information for stakeholders.
- Liaise with Internal and External Auditors as required.
- Develop financial policies that balance compliance with practical business outcomes.
- Report, analyse, and enhance Payment Times Reporting and supplier management processes.
- Simplify and document month-end processes and procedures.
- Monitor, innovate, and continuously improve accounting policies and procedures.
About you:
- Bachelor of Commerce (or equivalent) and CA/CPA membership.
- Proven finance experience with a focus on financial management and reporting.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Knowledge of Victorian Government financial reporting (desirable).
- Intermediate-advanced Excel skills.
- Sound knowledge and application of accounting policies (AASB/IAS).
- Experience in managing internal controls and developing related policies.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Deadline-driven with effective workload management.
- Strong communication skills adaptable to various audiences.
- Process-centric approach and discretion in handling sensitive issues.
