About the Role
We are building new facility and a new range of marketing leading products in the snacking and convenience space. Are you an experienced Food Technologist looking to drive the development of a factory and range. The role will also include maintaining our Quality Assurance processes, ensuring that HACCP standards are met and exceeded and all audits are completed on time and to a high standard. You will also be responsible for production scheduling activities across our product ranges, identifying process improvements and adhering to production schedules.
What's involved in the role?
- Participating in the scheduling, resourcing and undertaking of new product trials
- Overseeing the validation and reporting of new products and processes
- Liaising with key stakeholders across the business to facilitate the implementation of new products and processes
- Monitor and improve our HACCP food safety and quality system
- Undertaking continuous improvement projects including the specification and commissioning of new equipment
- Providing technical input and recommendations during development and cross-departmental project meetings
- Undertaking production planning
- Complete product costings
- Developing and maintaining relevant reference materials (e.g. Standard Operating Procedures, Visual Guides, etc) to support ongoing product quality and safety
- Continuously review production requirements and schedule production to ensure customer service levels are met
- Control the supply of raw product into production and investigate any supply shortages
- Undertake system improvement process requests and communicate outcomes management and customers.
What's required?
- Bachelor degree in Food Science or other relevant qualification
- 5-10 years experience in a food manufacturing facility, preferably in a product development, quality control/assurance or food safety capacity
- Experience with small goods, batters and breadings
- Process development or administration of food quality and safety management systems will also be highly regarded
- High motivation, independence, and self-discipline, demonstrating ownership and initiative
- Thorough planning and organisation skills with systematic approach
- High level of attention to detail and process
- Demonstrates understanding of regulations, policies as per country regulatory requirements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility and a desire to get the job done
- Experience with other retail programs desired
