The Role
The Senior Heritage Compliance Advisor will support MinRes heritage programmes and compliance activities across the MinRes portfolio to ensure continuity of operation in brown and green fields environments. You will also be responsible for assisting with the development and implementing of MinRes Heritage Compliance Operations management systems.
You will play a key part of the heritage team engaging with Traditional Owners on the planning of heritage compliance activities, whilst enhancing and maintaining relationships with Traditional Owners and Native Title Groups.
This position will report directly to the Principle Hertiage Advisor. You will be predominantly based out on our mine sites on a 2.2 roster, and occasionally there will be requirement to have oversee projects at our MinRes HQ Office located in Osborne Park.
Key deliverables:
Provide heritage advice to the Principal Heritage Advisor to ensure MinRes achieves business objectives.
Delivering to the on-site business education about heritage values and importance to ensure timely delivery of projects without an adverse heritage incident.
Plan, coordinate and lead priority demarcation of heritage values requiring additional protection.
Ensure safe working practices are followed for all heritage field activities.
Assist in the development and implementation of a robust reporting procedure to ensure the business is kept updated on the status and progress of demarcation, incident investigations, in-field activities, delivery of education to the various MinRes operations and Traditional Owner engagement.
Be involved and lead heritage surveys on an adhoc bases.
Audit / Field interaction of MinRes’ internal Surface Disturbance Permit applications in the field i.e. ensuring the heritage conditions are being complied with.
Assist in the management of ground disturbing activities, including arranging for Traditional Owner monitors, to ensure heritage sites are not adversely impacted
Ensure compliance with conditions on heritage statutory approvals.
What you’ll bring to the team:
A working knowledge and application of relevant legislation in relation to Aboriginal Heritage and Native Title
Tertiary qualifications in anthropology, archaeology or a related discipline and/or experience working in the resources industry.
Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to work in changing environments and problem solve.
Demonstrated organisational skills in complex environments
Excellent computer skills including the use of ArcGIS and the ability to learn and adapt to new programs
Current manual drivers’ licence and demonstrated ability to drive and work in remote areas
Current First Aid certificate
