About the Role
We have an exciting 12-month opportunity for a Senior HR Adviser to join the ABC People & Culture (HR) division.
Reporting to the Head of People & Culture Business Partnerships, this role will guide, coach and support managers in relation to the consistent application of HR policies, employment legislation and the ABC's Enterprise Agreement. You will be working with a small, highly collaborative team, contributing significantly to reviewing and improving workplace practices, coaching managers and working with leaders to create a great working culture through innovative employment practices and activities.
A day in the life of a Senior HR Adviser at the ABC will involve:
  • Complex case management requiring sensitivity, confidence and an understanding of the application of employment legislation, policies and the ABC's Enterprise Agreement
  • Collaborating with the ER and Payroll Services teams to undertake analysis, identify issues and provide sound recommendations to complex employee arrangements.
  • Provision of professional HR advice and consulting in areas such as diversity and inclusion, employee relations, performance management, forms of employment, recruitment, workforce planning, learning & development, Indigenous employment, health & safety, and organisation effectiveness.
  • Building and maintaining relationships and becoming a trusted adviser to key managers.
  • Working with the team to design and build innovation people solutions.
About You
This role requires the ability to develop relationships and influence key stakeholders and is ideal for a dynamic person with sophisticated communication and interpersonal skills and ability to juggle multiple priorities. You will have significant experience in HR consulting or advisory role with experience in change management and case management. You will also have:
  • Sensitivity and nuanced problem-solving skills, perceptiveness and the ability to accurately analyse and understand stakeholder communications.
  • Knowledge of the application of policies, procedures, enterprise agreements and legislative requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience applying HR policies, employment legislation and enterprise agreements in a large complex organisation.
  • Well-developed facilitation, training, coaching, counselling, and conflict management skills.
  • Enjoy working collaboratively with others, and willing to pivot quickly to support business priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience with complex, people change programs.
  • An excellent communicator, who can work with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
