Who will you be working with? The Senior HR Advisor, reporting to the HR Business Partner, will be responsible for the delivery of all aspects of the HR function including strategic HR, business level implementation and aligning the HR strategy to deliver the organization’s business goals.

Where is the position located? This is a 12-month maternity cover position based at our office in Melbourne (Keysborough) OR Brisbane (Eagle farm).

How will you make a difference?

  • Work with the Leadership team to build and implement human resources solutions in line with business strategy and legislation;
  • Ensure the delivery of recommendations and solutions covering multiple areas of human resources including workforce planning and staffing; learning and development; organisational development; performance management; and employee relations;
  • Identify areas of short term, medium term and long-term strategic development within the human resources environment and meet the agreed outcomes;
  • Develop and implement new policies, practices and programs to meet organisational needs;
  • Identify and delegate HR responsibilities to management, ensuring organisational priorities are met and support structures (for example training) are in place for management;
  • Providing an appropriate level of advice and support to management regarding all HR matter;
  • Facilitate the regular reporting to management regarding employee matters including but not limited to employee absence, leave accrual and rehabilitation cases;
  • Collaborate with other members of the Leadership team to promote organisation cohesion, the development of a culture of continual improvement, and enforcement of organisational values;
  • Advise managers and supervisors on workplace relations, organisational design & development, generalist human resources management and occupational health & safety/rehabilitation matters.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Recognised degree qualified in a relevant discipline (Human Resources, Economics or Business);
  • At least 5+ years HR experience;
  • Experience in interpreting & advising on Australian employment law, awards, WH&S, and other government legislation is mandatory;
  • Strategic business knowledge and understanding;
  • High level ability to communicate, consult and negotiate with staff at all levels, and with external agencies, service providers and customers;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy and to exercise tact and discretion;
  • Intermediate level computing skills including Microsoft office suite;
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems (Workday preferred); and
  • Experience in Manufacturing/Rail/Construction/Mining/Aviation industry (preferred).
