Senior Information Officer

Senior Information Officer - A06 | 3 month contract  | QLD Government  

The Role:

Talent Street is looking for an Senior Information Officer - A06 for a large QLD government department.

Starting Date:    ASAP - 30/06/2024
Duration:           3 Months with probable extension
Location:            Berrinba (Brisbane South)

Responsibilities:

• Research, document and design computer users' requirements and later tests the validity and logic of programs and either makes or negotiates amendments, prepares reports, manuals and documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of system software for use by computer equipment suppliers, systems designers, programmers and computer operators.
• Develop and apply project management skills and knowledge to successfully scope, plan, deliver and evaluate medium sized projects or a number of small, often related projects under a larger Information Systems project or strategy
• Coordinate both technical and non-technical staff in the support, maintenance and development of information systems including front-end applications and databases.
• Coordinate the implementation of ICT-related projects such as software development, business process reviews and IT infrastructure upgrades, ensuring that the deliverables meet the expectations of the business and are consistent with the client's policies.
• Prioritise the workloads of staff allocated to support the Program’s systems team in order to deliver required outcomes to business to the required standard in the agreed timeframe
• Identify issues, handle them pro-actively and communicate business information systems management issues effectively to senior management and staff.
• Act as tier 1 support and administrator for applicable information systems in your program, for example, this would include but not be limited to systems such as Client and Stakeholder Engagement Solution (CaSES; CRM) and the Program’s SharePoint site.
• Investigate, document and analyse information system issues and improvements, including server and/or other equipment upgrades, enhancements to existing software systems, and mobility requirements for the program.
• Prioritise and coordinate the implementation of the ICT-related projects such as mobility, software development and system enhancements, business process reviews and IT infrastructure upgrades to meet the requirements and expectations of the business and introduce operational efficiencies.
• Supervise the allocation of work assignments and tracking of progress from direct reports. Ensure all HR responsibilities are undertaken according to the client's policy; including recruitment, performance management and leave applications.
• Communicate business information systems management issues effectively with senior management and staff.

Desirable Criteria:

• Data base management, spatial data and reporting analysis experience. This may include; SQL proficiency, Power BI, dashboards, spatial systems, strong analytical skills and data modelling.  BPMN and JIRA are also used within the team.
• Experience with D365 is highly regarded.
