Role responsibilities
- Contribute to Health Service strategic planning initiatives; provide expert advice and guidance to business units regarding their local ICT and information management issues. This may include:
- Service queue management; including customer engagement and resolution of incidents or service requests
- The analysis of business processes and alignment with application functionality.
- Assisting in the development of business cases for technical advice.
- Provide advice and support to the health service as deemed appropriate by the Technical Operations Manager.
- Work with Information Technical Operations Manager and Departments / Service Groups to achieve Information Management requirements relevant to ACHS accreditation guidelines.
- Optimise the use of local and enterprise systems from a user functionality point of view, including database management support if required.
- Manage the release of all local applications, including upgrades in line with Queensland Health policies and standards, whether they are enhancements to existing systems, commercial software or in-house development applications.
- Manage software licensing in line with departmental guidelines, ensuring all local information systems have a valid software licence.
- Develop appropriate procedures and agreements for the ongoing support and management of local information systems.
- As required, provide a link between Health Service IT Unit and Queensland Health's E-health department regarding information system requirements.
Role requirements
- Experience in the health service delivery environment would be highly regarded.
- Whilst not mandatory a relevant tertiary or business qualification will be well regarded.
Generous remuneration package value up to $127,236 p.a.comprising:
- Salary rates between $3928.50 - $4274.40 p.f (AO5)
- 17.5% annual leave loading + leave
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution

The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated experience in working in a large organisation and demonstrated ability to problem solve within a Microsoft Environment.
- Demonstrated high level or ability to acquire knowledge, skills and experience in server hardware and software applications and platforms (preferred experience with virtualisation, SQL, SAN and Citrix technologies).
- Well developed skills, experience and knowledge of application system release and change management processes within a large organisation, particularly within a hospital, medical or health care industry.
- Well developed interpersonal skills within a team environment, and the ability to effectively manage the impact of organisational change.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal with stakeholders and staff at all levels and from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills of business analysis and project management methodologies.
