We have a fabulous opportunity for you to join the UGL Industrial Relations team.
Due to business demand resulting from previous wins, we have created a new full time permanent IR position to be based out of our beautiful Perth office. We offer modern office environments with fully equipped kitchens and comfortable seating where you can catch up with colleagues.
We offer the opportunity to work closely with a specialist IR/ER industry expert, to further develop your enterprise bargaining skills, manage issues to completion and advocacy work at the FWC.
About the role
This is a varied hands-on role that will see you provide advice across a broad variety of IR/ER issues such as performance management, providing counselling on discipline and termination matters and assisting the business with interpretation of legislation, enterprise agreements and employment contracts as well as dealings with union officials. You will support senior managers, the P&C community and UGL’s clients and provide vital input into tenders.

With support from our resident IR veteran (and broader IR team), you will provide advice to a range of multi-million-dollar projects, services, and partners with clients in diverse industries to include oil and gas, mining, rail, Power, renewable energy and transport sectors. Main responsibilities
Key to this role is the challenge of building relationships with internal stakeholders (P&C community, GMs), external stakeholders (mostly tier 1 global clients) and the Unions (AMWU, ETU and CFMEU).
- Draft agreements and ensure compliance with relevant Employee Relations Management Plans
- Draft enterprise agreements and assist with enterprise agreement bargaining
- Assist sites in complying with all legislative obligations and provide input, perspective and documentation on key issues and disputes
- Provide IR/ER coaching and mentoring to P&C Managers
- Experience in a similar industrial relations position in a similar relevant industry such as construction, mining, oil and gas, utilities, new energy etc
- Desire to build on and further develop your IR/ER knowledge
