The Opportunity:
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Senior Landscape Architect to join our National Design team in our Sydney office.
As a Senior Landscape Architect, you will be delivering high quality technical, production and design input to the National Design team. This involves demonstrating a broad understanding, passion, and emerging skill base in the areas of landscape, built form, public realm design and placemaking.
You will be:
- Providing support to both the local and National Design teams in servicing client requirements. This involves managing small to medium size projects and coordinating with Urbis team members from other disciplines. You will be working across a wide range of project types from individual development sites, inner city urban regeneration, residential, education, retail, open space parklands, broad acre green field developments, transport and infrastructure, commercial developments and town centres;
- Providing a broad range of quality services including site analysis, master planning, concept design, design development, construction documentation, tendering and construction administration;
- Understanding the detail of Landscape Architecture and the construction processes (the different phases, deliverables, contract documents and client expectations) with the expectations of creative landscape and public realm design flair and delivery input into multiple projects from concept stage through to design development, landscape documentation and construction administration;
- Providing site supervision of various size projects, if required;
- Providing a well-developed understanding of relevant Australian Standards and Building Codes and other industry standards including their applicability to each project;
- Working efficiently and collaboratively alongside other professionals on a range of multi-disciplinary projects, working to direction or a brief, to deadlines, within budget and with a commercial focus;
- Assisting with the development of fee proposals and tenders for potential projects;
About you:
This role is ideally suited to someone with:
- 5+ years relevant experience
- A strong creative design passion
- An ability to work well within a team-based, project focussed environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- An ability to develop and document complex Landscape Architecture designs in computer aided design (AutoCAD) and Revit /BIM and graphic (Adobe Creative Suite) and 3d modelling and visualisation expertise (Sketchup / Rhino 3d / Lumion) formats.
- Strong Word and Excel skills to develop contract specifications and costing estimates
- Qualifications in Landscape Architecture
