Bearded Dragon Boutique Hotel at Tamborine is just 45 minutes from Brisbane city or Gold Coast. Set on acreage with an awesome country aspect a real pub in the paddock. Situated conveniently at the base of Tamborine Mountain just 15 minutes from Beenleigh, Yarrabilba, Yatala, Canungra, Logan & Beaudesert.
Well established venue with solid kitchen, we are requiring a skilled and experienced Chef de Partie to join our team. This role is to plan, prepare and cook food according to the Hotel menu and standards.
Major Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Prepare full range of foods according to the Bearded Dragon Boutique Hotel menus and standards
- Prepare, serve and store food items in regards to the requirements of our Kitchen
- Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
- Freeze and preserve foods according to the requirements of our Kitchen
- Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
- Comply with the regular cleaning and waste disposal practices at the kitchen
- Monitoring, ordering and managing stocks
- Monitoring portion and waste control to ensure hotel profit remains positive
- Establish and maintain effective employee working relationships with other staff
- Maintain good communication between hotel and kitchen staff and within the kitchen
- Liaise, supervise and work with cooks and to assist them to ensure safe and efficient production of food, while maintaining all statutory requirements
- Supervise and assist the kitchen staff in the absence of Executive Chef/ Kitchen Management Team
- Discussing food preparation issues with Executive Chef/ Kitchen Management team
- Train the kitchen staff
- Ensure all our policies and procedures, health and hygiene requirements are adhered to
Relevant Qualifications:
- AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent of 3 years of work experiences to substitute for the formal qualifications listed above
Relevant Experiences:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Chef in similar capacity
Relevant Skills:
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment
- Willing to work under pressure.
- Good knowledge of policies and procedures in workplace
- Attention to details
- Strong work ethics
- Experience in similar role
- Excellent physical condition and stamina
