The Graduate School of Medicine (GSM) aims to graduate excellent medical practitioners with a commitment to patient-centred, evidence-based, reflective and cost-effective medical practice, who have the capacity and desire to contribute to the enhancement of health care for persons in all geographic settings but particularly in regional, rural and remote communities. Closing the gap on Indigenous health and social outcomes is a priority and GSM aims to produce culturally safe medical practitioners. The medical curriculum covers a diversity of content, encompassing biological and social sciences, clinical medicine, law, ethics, research and critical analysis, and personal and professional development. This provides a variety of opportunities for involvement in curriculum delivery for academic staff working alone and in interdisciplinary teams. The Doctor of Medicine (MD) program is delivered primarily on two campuses located in Wollongong and Shoalhaven, as well as in numerous rural sites throughout NSW.
We are seeking a highly motivated and successful individual to support the development and implementation of teaching-learning experiences for medical students to learn Clinical Skills and competencies related to patient care. You will work as part of an interprofessional team to design curriculum and learning experiences, facilitate small group teaching, and administer OSCEs in conjunction with clinical and assessment leads. This position involves liaison across both campus locations of Wollongong and Shoalhaven for implementation of Clinical Skills activities.
You will work closely to support the Academic Lead for the curriculum theme of Clinical Competence in the MD program whilst contributing to Clinical Skills curriculum review activities as part of monitoring and evaluation activities. You will also contribute to leadership activities associated with this curriculum theme, across the four-year medical degree and will be expected to make a contribution to medical education research and scholarship related to the field of Clinical Skills education.
To be successful in this role you will hold current APHRA medical practitioner registration with Fellowship and/or Vocational Registration (or eligibility for the same), with recent active clinical practice in Australia.
