A new opportunity has arisen for a Senior Legal Counsel to join the team. The role’s primary function is to provide legal expertise across all stages of real estate debt financing transactions, including loan terms sheets, due diligence, conditions precedent, negotiation and execution of legal documentation, and funding.
The role also covers various commercial and corporate law aspects including the review and negotiation of commercial contracts, and contributing to the efficient operation of the Board.
The Role:
- Provide high-quality legal advice and support
- Drafting, reviewing and finalisation of legal documentation
- Prepare terms sheets for transactions in conjunction with the Originations and Transactions team
- Manage external legal firms in the production of loan documentation, ensuring key terms are negotiated to reflect the terms sheets and are within investment committee approved underwriting
- Assist with the preparation of corporate authorities and drafting of resolutions for board meetings
- Understanding, complying and meeting compliance requirements.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10+ years PAE with a background in banking and finance gained from a reputable private practice or in-house environment. You will be a strong communicator with excellent drafting skills with a high level of attention to detail.
