THE ROLE
This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Legal Counsel to:
- Work in a successful, established, growing organisation.
- Work closely with the GC and the business.
- Be at the core of the business to provide legal support to all functions.
- Work closely with the business during a period of change and use your know-how to implement and help redesign the legal function.
- Hybrid and flexible working – 3 days in office, 2 days from home
- Start date: asap
- Permanent, 5 days a week
- Reporting to an awesome GC
Contracts and Transactions
Advising on, drafting, and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts, including:
- Sales and customer (retail and B2B)
- Procurement (ingredients, packaging, indirect, outsourced manufacturing, services)
- Logistics (transport, warehousing, contractor delivery)
- Distribution (distribution partners and e-commerce partners)
- Equipment purchases and property (capex and commissioning agreements, leases)
- General commercial and requests for tender
Intellectual Property
- Provision of intellectual property advice to the business, including trademark registrations, challenges, and infringement issues
Corporate / M&A
- Providing legal support in connection with business acquisitions, mergers, and divestments.
Training, policies, procedures, and templates
- Providing training to the business in relation to legal and compliance matters, as well as developed template agreements, policies, procedures and guidelines tailored to the business where required.
Advisory
- Giving legal guidance and assistance to the business (including the teams for logistics, procurement, sales, sustainability, health and safety, engineering, property, and sales) on its regular activities.
ABOUT YOU
- You have:
- A current Australian Legal Practicing certificate.
- At least 8 years post-qualification experience.
- At least 2+ years in-house experience.
- Experience in an FMCG is desirable but not essential.
- Strong commercial negotiation and drafting skills are essential.
