OVERVIEW:

We have acquired over 500 companies across multiple industries including software used in healthcare, public safety, utilities and many more. We acquire small, medium, and large sized companies from owner/operators as well as institutional and corporate shareholders and hold them forever, applying the best practices we have learned as seasoned acquirers of niche software companies.
We are seeking a Senior Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Analyst to work closely with our leadership team in Australia as well as our global M&A team to continue our successful M&A activity in the region. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying, evaluating, and closing acquisition opportunities.
The ideal candidate is inherently curious with mature interpersonal skills and a meticulous attention-to-detail. Prior M&A experience is essential. Knowledge of software is also an asset.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced M&A Analyst looking for an opportunity to lead acquisition processes from start to finish. You will join a prolific acquiror inside the highly successful acquisition culture of Constellation Software.
We have offices in Melbourne and Adelaide however strong candidates from across Australia will be considered. We support hybrid/remote working for the right candidate.
WHAT YOUR IMPACT WILL BE:
M&A Execution
- After learning our business model and processes, you will lead acquisition transactions from initial evaluation through to integration handoff
- You will be responsible for financial modelling, due diligence (including project managing our functional and business unit teams), negotiation, investment approval and post-close monitoring for multiple M&A transactions per year
- Preparing business summaries, investment memos, commentary, and responding to detailed Q&A from our internal stakeholders
M&A Business Development
- Your focus will be on leading M&A transactions, however, you will also take initiative in originating deals to ensure the team maintains a strong pipeline of investment opportunities
- You will play a leadership role with our M&A business development specialists to ensure they are finding acquisition opportunities that fit our investment mandate
Other
- Internal reporting on pre-close acquisition activity and pipeline, post-close acquisition performance
- Some interstate travel will be required
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- 4-5 years of direct experience in a similar role, corporate finance, investment analysis or M&A activity
- Self-started with exceptional organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Undergraduate degree in business or finance, or a Master of Business Administration (MBA)
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
WHAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT:
- Experience with software M&A
- Strong credentials in a quantitative field, such as Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business, with preference given to post graduate qualifications with either a CPA or MBA
