Are you an experienced data and business analyst looking for a new and exciting opportunity?

The Administrative Appeals Tribunal is currently seeking applications for 3 Senior Performance & Insights Analysts to join the Data, Performance & Insights team on an ongoing basis.

These positions can be located at either Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Hobart, Melbourne Sydney or Perth. 

Remuneration: The annual salary for the position is APS6 $90,199 - $102,499 p.a., plus a generous employer superannuation contribution of 15.4%.

About the opportunity:

The Data, Performance and Insights section is responsible for the AAT's data, Performance and reporting frameworks. The team is tasked with delivering a sustainable business intelligence and reporting function able to meet the data and information needs of the Tribunal and its stakeholders.

Reporting to the Assistant Director Performance and Insights, the Senior Performance and Insights Analyst contributes to the delivery of the AAT’s whole-of-tribunal reporting, performance measurement and Insights function.

With significant subject matter expertise and an extensive understanding of relevant business intelligence implementation and operational best practice, the Senior Performance and Insights Analyst is responsible for delivering a sustainable business intelligence and reporting function able to meet the data and information needs of the Tribunal and its stakeholders. This includes requirement gathering, data acquisition, data analysis, documenting definitions, business processes and procedures, using a variety of data analytics tools and techniques. 

The Senior Performance and Insights Analyst combines a sound knowledge of the AAT’s operations with an analytical and strategic approach to problem-solving, to contribute to the design and preparation of statistical information and data-driven insights to support a broad range of strategic and operational activities.

About you:

To be successful you will:

  • Have demonstrated capability to acquire expert knowledge of the Tribunal’s caseload management processes, operating environment and compliance requirements to design, prepare, implement, and maintain insightful reports.
  • Be able to design frameworks, procedures, reports and data products to support evaluation of operational performance, strategic initiatives and assessment of the Tribunal’s key measures.
  • Have demonstrated experience in developing reports and dashboards using contemporary business intelligence software (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services, Power BI, Tableau or similar) while applying analytical techniques to interpret complex data, communicate insights clearly and enhance business value to meet customer requirements.
  • Be experienced in implementation, operation and maintenance of reporting platforms ensuring reporting methods comply with data infrastructure, data security and data governance frameworks.
  • Support collaboration, including participation in multi-disciplinary working groups to contribute data management expertise to strategic projects.
  • Be able to develop positive and productive stakeholder relationships, communicate effectively and manage complex and sensitive issues.

Desirable:

Tertiary qualifications in data science, computer science or other relevant qualifications.

Position Eligibility Requirements:

The AAT requires Australian Citizenship as a condition of engagement.

All employees are required to undertake an Australian Federal Police Check and health assessment.
