Senior Management Accountant

Rombola Family Farms encompasses over 4,000 hectares of intensive irrigated horticultural production at Griffith (NSW), Bundaberg (QLD) and Mataranka (NT). Agricultural enterprises include Seedless Watermelon, Rockmelons, Broccoli, Pumpkin, Almonds and Winegrapes. Operations include primary production, processing, value adding and marketing.

We are seeking a passionate and driven Senior Management Accountant to join our Finance team. This position will be responsible for providing financial support to the business, analysing data, and producing accurate financial reports, using previously gained accounting and business management skills. The role will also provide value-added analysis to support decision making by collecting, processing, and communicating information that helps management plan, control and evaluate business processes and company strategy.

Key accountabilities include:

• Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations and ensure the integrity of financial data in the system.
• Weekly & monthly budget to actual performance and cashflow reporting & scenario analysis.
• The formulation of category specific and aggregated annual operating and capital budgets
• Scope, design and operationalise management and financial reporting automation and integration.
• Build ad hoc financial models and reporting to support M&A, capital investment and operational decision making.
• Ownership of all cost and variance analysis for the group.
• Creating financial statements for internal and external company requirements
• Develop Financial models to predict future outcomes based on current information.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

• CA/CPA or equivalent qualification is preferred.
• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
• Exceptional modelling skills are a must have of which initially Excel will form the core; Power BI experience will be seen as advantageous.
• An affinity for interpreting numerical data supported by excellent written & verbal communication skills to deliver insight in a meaningful way to various stakeholders.
• Understanding of commercial realities including exposure to and participation in financial, commercial, and planning decisions
• A high level of competence in Office applications and overall high level of computer literacy.
• Relationship management skills with the ability to build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and a desire to work in a proactive team (must be a team player).
• Flexibility in hours worked to achieve operational targets.
• A current driver’s licence.
