As part of the senior leadership team in Economic Analysis, you will oversee the direction of analysis and research in the Asian and International Macroeconomics Section, while leading and developing individuals and teams to achieve goals and deliver outcomes. Providing the international macroeconomic context for the Board's monetary policy decisions. Responsible for the leadership of the section, supported by two other managers. Create a culture aligned to RBA values, enabling an environment for high levels of employee engagement and achievement.
Effectively plan, implement and monitor progress of a strategic agenda of analytical and other outputs in line with priorities of the Department and the Group.
Provide economic and/or technical advice that supports the monetary policy decisions of the Board and contributes to the Bank and Economic Group meeting its strategic goals.
Actively contribute to the transformation program of the department, as part of the Bank-wide response to the RBA Review
Communicate effectively to relevant internal and external decision-makers, stakeholders and other audiences in support of the Bank's functions and objectives.
Your background
Experienced and passionate about leading, developing and motivating a team, and coaching team members, as well as ownership of the execution of strategy.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in economics, finance or closely related field, or equivalent experience.
Familiarity with theory, concepts and applied issues relevant to economics and finance.
Experience in economic analysis and research or in a closely related field, preferably with an international perspective.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Your team
You will lead a team of 2 managers and 9 analysts, reporting to the Head of Economic Analysis Department in Economic Group.
As part of the senior leadership team, you will contribute to the broader strategic direction and leadership of Economic Analysis Department and Economic Group, sharing accountability with other leaders for overall performance of deliverables and outcomes.
Economic Analysis Department analyses and forecasts trends in the international and domestic economies and provides regular advice on these developments and on monetary policy to the Governors and the Board. It engages with internal and external stakeholders and audiences, conducts a nationwide business liaison program, undertakes applied research, and prepares documents for publication in support of the Bank's objectives.
