The Senior Manager, Cyber Security Operations provides visible leadership for the Cyber Security Operations function. In collaboration with key stakeholders, the Senior Manager will take a visible and proactive approach to delivering Deakin’s strategic goals through the leadership of Cyber Security Operations centre.

As a Senior Manager, Cyber Security Operations, you will:
- Build and inspire best practice operations support in incident handling, vulnerability management, threat detection and assurance across Deakin University.
- Manage and run an inhouse Security Operations centre
- Identify and lead an effective continuous threat and vulnerability monitoring program. Manage the life cycle of Cyber Security Operations platforms, including SIEM, vulnerability scanners, threat intelligence, automation, and cloud security.
- Plan and oversee the team’s tasks and priorities. Monitor and analyse cyber threats and be responsible for incident detection, log analysis and monitoring.
- Partner effectively with representatives from other universities and organisations in order to share security intelligence and uplift our security capability.
To be successful, you’ll have:
Qualifications and experience
- Proven expertise in the management of significant human and material resources
- Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience
- Proven technical experience across a wide variety of technologies such as digital, cloud, networks, applications and platforms.
- Knowledge of security, systems administration, infrastructure, networking within an enterprise environment.
- Proven experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools and Microsoft security tools and technology
