Triple Zero Victoria (000VIC) provides the critical link between the Victorian community and the state's emergency services agencies. It provides Victoria's 24-hour emergency call-taking and dispatch services for Police, Fire, Ambulance and VICSES.

About the RoleThe Senior Manager, Emergency Management is a key and active leader within the Emergency Communications Services (ECS) department, delivering enterprise-wide resilience and emergency response management services. This position will lead the Emergency Management services to meet desired customer experiences and outcomes and will influence and drive strategies to ensure 000VIC can maintain availability and continuity of service during surge events and incidents.
This role will set new benchmarks that reflect leading Emergency Management practice, to which 000VIC will continuously measure its emergency preparedness, response and recovery and business continuity performance.
Day to day responsibilities include:
- Delivery of Emergency Planning Services roadmap in line with organisational objectives, stakeholder expectations and user experience objectives.
- Identify best practices in Emergency Planning and Management and Business Continuity, and design and implement preparedness, response and recovery strategies that deliver successful and high performing continuous operation of 000VIC services.
- Establish relationships to drive the adoption of 000VIC's Emergency Management service response practices, and influence decision making for risk, resilience and business continuity.
- Develop strategies and interoperability between stakeholders by developing and driving the practise of high-performance Emergency Planning Services, and collaboratively drive the uplift 000VIC's business resilience capability maturity rating.
- Establish relationships with all stakeholders providing influence and input into the management of State-wide and internal incidents that may impact emergency service response and the community.
This role is available as a 5-month fixed term opportunity, and can be based from any 000VIC location including Burwood East, Ballarat or Williams Landing.
About YouThe preferred candidate will hold the following skills and attributes:
- A Diploma/Tertiary qualification in Emergency Management or related discipline and/or substantial experience in managing operational business continuity with demonstrable outcomes.
- Experience within senior management positions, within a best practice customer service organisation or contact centre operations, with exposure to the areas of accountability.
- Experience managing competing priorities to align change objectives that meet community, emergency services, and workforce expectations.
- Strong people leader, team builder and innovator with the ability to build, drive and reinforce the development of people, new service, and capabilities in Emergency Planning scope.
