The Vancouver office, located at Oceanic Plaza in Vancouvers CBD, supports South32's Corporate Development and Exploration functions. The office was recently refurbished and provides a bespoke designed workplace environment with access to a vast array of amenities in proximity of key transport options.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is a Permanent position from Vancouver, British Columbia.
As the Senior Manager, Greenfields Exploration Nth & Central America you will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to safely deliver South32's Greenfields Exploration strategy through effective management of the portfolio and people, resources and mineral title, as well as ensuring statutory compliance of exploration activities.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:

• Lead Greenfields Exploration team in Nth & Central America, identifying quality resource opportunities that align with South32's growth objectives, especially in base metals and other valuable “future facing” commodities.
• Collaborate with Vice President Greenfields Exploration to set strategy and direction to drive long-term value for the business through effective management of early-stage opportunities across the exploration life cycle.
• Accountable for ensuring all field operations and exploration activities are conducted safely and effectively including implementation and continuous improvement of Risk, HSEC Management Systems, Contractor System of Work and South32 policies and procedures.
• Accountable for implementing the Contractor Management System for all controlled Greenfields projects in Nth & Central America. Ensuring operating discipline through effective planning, scheduling and budgeting. Monitoring business partner performance and guaranteeing compliance requirements are met to achieve both technical and operational objectives

ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Higher degree in geology or related field, preferably Master of Science or Ph. D. level
• 15+ years/ experience in exploration or consulting
• Strong multi-commodity geoscience evaluation and targeting background, developed from substantive early to advanced stage exploration and development experience across diverse deposit styles and geographies. Strong background in base metals is required, particularly porphyry/ skarn, carbonate replacement, SEDEX and VMS Systems.
• Regional exploration project portfolio management experience

Salary Range: $129,600-194,400
