About the Role:
As a member of the Senior Leadership team for Minda’s Home and Living Supports, the Senior Manager will be leading, managing, coaching, and developing their team to deliver high quality services for those Minda support.
Following Minda’s Co Design Working group which focused on collaboration with clients, families and staff for their feedback, over the last 12 to 18 months Minda has embarked on major change implementing our Cluster model. This has identified 6 key pillars to focus our service delivery in line with Minda’s strategic plan. This has seen the introduction of smaller client groups for our cluster managers to oversee in order to support high level of care, service delivery and outcomes for those we support.
In this role you will support your portfolio of cluster managers to deliver exceptional client service. As a valued leader in this space, you will ensure clients rights and responsibilities are held at the forefront of delivering effective services.
You will be responsible for overseeing the management of Supported Independent Living services encompassing strategic, client care and service delivery, financial, operational, people, and project management outcomes to meet the current and future accommodation needs of clients.
In this Role you will be responsible for:
Ensuring the provision of a warm, caring, supportive and stimulating environments for all persons being supported by Minda Services utilising the principles and objectives of the Disability Services Act (1993) and the current National Standards for Disability Services.
Ensuring the implementation of an individualised approach to service planning across multiple life domains using contemporary and appropriate tools by cluster areas.
Ensuring individuals are empowered to meet and (exceed) the highest possible quality of life outcome related targets and goals.
Monitoring the engagement with Clients and Nominees in the development of the Home and Living submission and Roster of Care
Providing sound leadership, direction and advice to direct reports and relevant staff in the performance of their duties, monitor performance and regularly provide feedback.
Developing a supportive environment that fosters open communication, collaboration, innovative problem solving, performance accountability, a high-level service culture and the enablement of individuals to contribute to the best of their capability.
Overseeing the recruitment, induction, training and supervision of direct reports.
Establishing relevant performance objectives and measures for direct reports and ensure performance management and development activity is conducted i.e. Annual formal performance and development reviews.
Implementing operational plans and monitoring progress towards the achievement of business unit goals, managing operational performance to ensure continuity of service delivery
Monitoring performance analytics including leave accrual (including management of excess annual and sick leave), salaries, expenditure progress reports etc. and take corrective action as required.
Overseeing effective rostering of staff hours based on client needs within budget guidelines
Monitoring and reporting on expenditure and resource utilisation, ensuring expenditure is within budget guidelines, including capital expenditure purchases as per approved capital budget and time frames.
Our Ideal Candidate:
Experience in a relevant leadership role working within the Disability, Aged Care, Human services, Community or Health related areas.
Proven ability to work in partnership with clients and staff to achieve positive outcomes including the ability to effectively advocate on behalf of clients and their families.
Demonstrable understanding of the issues involved in supporting and caring for disabled and/or ageing people with diverse value systems, cultural differences and special needs.
Demonstrated experience in leading and managing execution of operational plans to deliver different service models aligned to client needs.
Proven resilience and ability to maintain a positive calm focus under pressure to meet deadlines.
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills including conflict resolution and negotiation.
Ability to prepare concise, well written and objective business cases, reports, funding applications and submissions.
Proven capacity to effectively lead and manage change and facilitate and apply continuous improvement strategies.
Proven ability to develop a motivated work team, to develop the skills of staff and to be able to address performance and development issues to gain positive outcomes.
Proven experience managing, monitoring and reporting on budget and financial aspects.
Proven experience in risk management and mitigation and complex stakeholder relationship management
Skills and Qualifications Required
Demonstrated experience and understanding of individualised assessment approaches.
Highly developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to develop relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
Varied and relevant experience in community services with an emphasis on the design of innovative, flexible and holistic individualised plans and associated costings.
Broad knowledge of financial processes and guidelines related to individual funding and budgets and high level conceptual and analytical skills to assess and develop same.
Tertiary qualification in a relevant field i.e. Disability, Health, Human/Community services or management
Additionally, you will need
NDIS Worker Screening Check (or Valid DHS Disability Screening)
NDIS Worker Orientation Module
Current South Australian Driver's Licence
Unrestricted Working Rights within Australia
COVID Vaccinations (Two doses plus booster (3 total) of a TGA approved Covid-19 Vaccination)
