Your new role:The
Senior Manager,
Investment Accounting & Reporting is responsible for the management of month end accounting processes, financial controls and preparation of Fund Accounts. This role requires a combination of technical accounting expertise, proficiency in
Investment Accounting principles, and strong management skills to oversee the accounting process effectively.
Key duties include but are not limited to:- Manage month end close of the financial positions and reporting ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Assessment of complex accounting products including (but not limited to) equities, Investment Accounting, fixed income, financial instruments.
- Producing monthly financial reports and commentary for management (variance analysis, highlighting issues on an exception basis).
- Fund Accounting including assist with calculations and financial reporting (Crediting rates, Member Direct, Financial Statements).
- Work closely with external auditors during year end.
- Strong stakeholder management of 3rd party providers.
Other accounting tasks include:
- Cash flow management.
- Management of reserve accounting.
- Reconciliations of member transactions to Fund investment positions.
- Project Accounting.
What you'll need:- A tertiary qualification in accounting.
- Completion of CA/CPA.
- Strong finance and accounting skills - 10 years of experience, ideally within superannuation or financial services.
- High level of familiarity and self-reliance with accounting packages.
- High level of IT and software literacy
- Familiarity with reasonably complicated organisation structures encompassing multiple offices, investments, departments, and projects and how this can be configured in an accounting system.
- Up to date knowledge of accounting standards and practices.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and learning
- Ability to communicate with all levels of the organisation.
- Ability to understand business objectives and drivers, and how these translate into financial measures.
- Highly developed financial and numerical capabilities.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines.
