In this role you’ll
- Report to the Director Environment, Industry & Assets, Maritime and be supported by a team of skilled professionals.
- Be responsible for the management of a diverse range of NSW Maritime infrastructure assets including, strategic and operational processes related to vehicle fleet, aids to navigation, ferry wharves and coastal seawalls, as well as a fleet of 130 vessels across NSW.
- Ensure continuity of safe access to waterways, wharves and associated infrastructure for the community, in line with NSW government and community commitments.
- Be the custodian for all NSW Maritime associated assets and act as a single interface with stakeholders.
- Ensure NSW Maritime assets meet stakeholder requirements and expectations for asset safety, availability, reliability, and performance, along with overall value for money.
- Establish and manage relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, to deliver the desired balance of cost, risk and performance.
- Lead the implementation of assurance, audit tools and systems processes to monitor and report on asset performance, including the implementation of regular assurance plans and activities
- Collaborate across TfNSW to develop common systems of Assurance and Asset Management.
- Lead a customer focused team with a focus on development, uplifting capability, succession planning and continuous improvement.

About you
We’re looking for a customer focussed passionate leader. With strong attention to detail, you will have a demonstrated understanding of the relevant legislation governing Maritime’s asset management responsibilities and have sound knowledge of how to apply it.
This is an opportunity for you to demonstrate best practice asset management. Solid experience in developing an Asset Management Plan and 10 year blueprint from scratch is required. Management of the lifecycle of physical assets using Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software from SAP or equivalent will be advantageous.
A commercial lens is essential for success, however we will not compromise on safety and quality requirements. Application of whole of life thinking and appropriate risk management is paramount, as if your ability to put the customer first.
Working collaboratively and proactively is part of your DNA, you will be dedicated to building strong working relationships and partnerships with organisations interfacing with NSW Maritime. You will be a supportive and dedicated leader who will inspire and implement cultural change within NSW Maritime and the wider Transport for NSW
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Asset Management, Data Science, Project Management or other applicable subjects are essential. Applicants must be eligible for or hold a certification in asset management of at least Certified Practitioner in Asset Management (CPAM).
