We are searching for an experienced communications professional who can help Bankwest connect with stakeholders to share our story on our exciting strategic direction, customer focus and growth plans.
The ideal candidate will have a deep and broad skills base in media engagement, issues management and stakeholder relations, and demonstrated experience and understanding of social, economic issues and trends in Bankwest's home state of Western Australia as well as at a national level.
We're looking for a values-led and customer-focused individual who can demonstrate the ability to identify emerging risks, take the initiative to take smart risks, and counsel senior stakeholders in our business on communications strategies.
On any given day, you will:
- Lead, develop & implement proactive, impactful and communications strategies and campaigns to protect and enhance Bankwest and the CBA Group’s brand and reputation.
- Deliver authentic, credible and positive external communications campaigns to support key Bankwest and Group businesses and initiatives.
- Develop internal communications strategies and campaigns to align and engage employees with Bankwest and the Group’s strategy and equip employees to be brand champions.
- Provide insights and informed advice to business on communications, media and stakeholder engagement and the external operating environment.
- Mitigate potential reputational damage to the Group through strong issues identification and management in areas of responsibility. Oversee the preparation of responses to significant issues.
- Establish campaign or project performance indicators and reporting relating to communications activities to drive and track performance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Skilful management of communications for complex and time-sensitive projects
- The ability to engage and influence internal and external stakeholders
- A strong interest in and understanding of WA politics and current affairs (preferable)
- A passion for creating a lasting positive social impact in the community
