Main Accountabilities:

The goal is to obtain new customers for Travelport with an overall objective of growing revenue and market share. The role will focus on identifying, qualifying, driving and ultimately closing opportunities in a defined geographic territory. This will require an ability to develop high value relationships both with customers and internally; identifying and defining customer needs, articulating our value proposition, differentiating from the competition and ultimately positioning Travelport as a strategic technology partner.

The Senior Manager will be responsible for managing a small team of Business Development Manager's based across the region, providing leadership, performance management and coaching to this group.

Main Accountabilities:

The ideal candidate will be proactive in researching, identifying, and pursuing New Business and revenue opportunities within the region, leveraging an established network of contacts to develop and execute a comprehensive sales plan targeting large Strategic and Enterprise prospects.

They will maintain a robust sales pipeline of qualified opportunities within the designated market or target portfolio and effectively convey Travelport's role as a technology solutions provider, offering customer-focused and cost-effective value-added solutions that align with customer requirements. Additionally, the candidate will engage proactively with prospects and clients to understand their business needs, forge strong relationships with key decision-makers, and uncover New Business opportunities.

Collaboration with Sales Engineers and Solution Consultants will be crucial to support the Business Development process, ensuring expertise and knowledge sharing for lead generation, prospect management, proposal development, and order processing. Furthermore, coordination with Account Management and Customer Success Managers will facilitate the seamless transition of new accounts, while liaising with internal departments such as Product, Sales Operations, Legal, Finance, and Marketing will ensure smooth customer interactions. Accurate forecasting and reporting on sales activity and performance will be required as requested by management.

The candidate should also demonstrate creativity in identifying opportunities to promote Travelport's products and services, including leveraging new and non-GDS products to generate non-traditional revenues. Additionally, the role involves providing day-to-day leadership for a small team of Business Development Managers across the APAC region and managing team performance while facilitating professional development initiatives to enhance quality, performance, and consistency.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate for this role should possess a proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding target quotas, demonstrating an ability to effectively sell by understanding customer requirements and aligning them with Travelport solutions. Experience in team leadership and performance management, coupled with strong coaching abilities, is essential. They should exhibit a high level of commercial acumen and well-honed Business Development skills, complemented by excellent account and relationship management capabilities, fostering enduring customer connections. The candidate should be adept at engaging with customers and prospects across all organizational levels, with a demonstrated ability to drive successful customer engagements. Proficiency in solution selling within the high-tech and/or travel industry is required, along with a proactive, self-starting approach to opportunity qualification and decision-making. The candidate should possess strong influencing skills and be able to effectively leverage internal resources cross-functionally. Superior presentation skills, strategic planning abilities, and the capacity to make decisive judgments, especially in high-stakes scenarios, are necessary. Previous experience in technology and/or travel-related businesses, particularly within a global matrixed organization, is preferred. While familiarity with GDS functionality and industry-related experience is advantageous, the candidate should also demonstrate dynamism, drive, and focus in task execution, alongside self-accountability and exceptional verbal and written communication skills. A self-confident and self-aware demeanor, coupled with a penchant for continuous self-improvement and excellent time management, round out the desired profile for this position.
