The role is responsible for supporting the Australian Head (AUH) and New Zealand (NZM) Head of Enterprise Risk Management, the AUH Chief Risk and Compliance Officer (CRCO) in Australia and New Zealand, and the AUH Head of Risk Strategy. Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), brings together Operational & Resilience Risk (ORR) and parts of Risk Strategy & Macroeconomic Risk, to provide support to the integration of the HSBC RMF and Risk Appetite Management, and to provide broad oversight of our Non-Financial Risk Taxonomy.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive accountability of risk across the three lines of defence through the management and oversight of tools such as Emerging Risks, Risk Map and CEO Scorecard Management Information (MI) or Executive Committee (ExCo) Shared Objectives which includes Performance and Quality.
- Measure (PQM) across Financial Crime and Regulatory Compliance; Conduct and Non-Financial Risks measures.
- Responsible for drafting reports as well as monthly compilation of Risk Profile Paper, ExCo Shared Objectives Paper, the delivery and production of the Risk Management Meeting (RMM) pack as well as the Board Risk Committee pack.
- Manage a centralised Annual Governance Planner across AUH Entity Forums including (Board, Board Risk Committee, ExCo and RMM).
- Manage and coordinate meetings, as well as manage and lead the annual Emerging Risk Forum (ERF) to review and identify potential new emerging risks.
- Collaborating across 1st and 2nd line for Governance and Reporting purposes, ensuring local and regional management awareness of local issues and path to green actions.
- Support to both 1st and 2nd line in the delivery of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and CRCO scorecard metrics and run education sessions across the first and second line.
- Monthly production of the CEO/Senior Officer Outside Australia (SOOA) reporting requirements on behalf of the AUH CRCO.
- Oversight over Banking Executive Accountability Regime (BEAR)/ Financial Accountability Regime (FAR) activities including maintenance of the CRCO compliance map.
- Oversee the offshore Chief Control Officer (CCO) activities as well as for offshore Risk Steward Oversight and Governance (RSOG) resources.
Requirements
- Seasoned experience having worked at all levels of an organisation to understand cross-functional linkages and interdependencies, as well as the implications of risk at both a strategic level and at the customer group level.
- Has developed an elevated level of professional competence as it relates to the enterprise risk management framework.
- Demonstrated ability to assess risk trends, both internally and externally.
- Expertise in Group and Industry developments in Risk Management.
- Strong communication and stakeholder relationship management skills.
- Ability to lead change, contributing to joining up the function regionally and globally.
- Understand and interpret complex business requirements with proven ability to prioritise competing demands.
- Established financial and accounting acumen.
Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.
