About the role:
The Senior Manager, Statewide OHS Services is a critical leadership role leading the Statewide OHS Services Team by providing strategic leadership, direction setting and people management of four regionally based Manager OHS Services Teams, managing key relationships and providing expert advice and leadership in complex or escalated OHS issues in Victorian government schools.
- Reporting to the Director, OHS Implementation Services Branch, the role will lead the Statewide OHS Services Team in implementing and delivering the Department's newly expanded OHS Services Program to schools across Victoria.
- You will lead the teams to provide high quality, responsive advice and technical OHS support to Department workplace managers, school leaders and employees, and reduce the OHS administrative workload in schools through the teams' delivery of hands-on support to schools.
- You will build strong relationships with senior leaders in the Department, regions and schools to ensure effective delivery of the OHS Services Program, resolve complex issues and provide trusted expertise, thought leadership and advice. You will work closely with Emergency Management leaders to ensure partnering on the delivery of the OHS Services Program.
- You will have established yourself an exceptional safety professional and operator, experienced in motivating teams and people leaders, with a strategic mindset and proven experience in exceptional regional service delivery.
About you:
Essential is a relevant qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent professional experience in OHS.
- Sound technical health safety and well being knowledge with significant understanding of relevant legislation and codes of practice.
- Your in-depth experience in OHS is complimented by your understanding of school operations and the pressures faced by principals and school leaders.
- You are passionate about creating the best possible outcomes for health, safety and well-being in schools
- Proven leadership experience in translating organisational strategy into meaningful long-term plans and objectives.
- Aligning organisational values and goals with effective people management
- Strategic change management experience
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
