We need a Senior Media, Communications and Engagement Advisor to join the Communications and Engagement team within the Department of Education's Infrastructure Services Division on a temporary, full-time basis.
Your natural creative talents mean you can jump from writing briefing notes and function profiles, to assisting with urgent media issues and crisis communications, or taking on community engagement or internal comms.
In this busy role you'll need relevant experience coordinating and supporting a broad range of engagement, communication and event activities. Detail driven, you'll be responsible for liaising with relevant organisational units, various stakeholders, delivery partners, and staff to produce results through effective communication activities across the Infrastructure Services Division.

Your Role
As the Senior Media, Communications and Engagement Advisor you will have responsibility for the following:
- Researching and preparing well written and engaging communications content for a variety of audiences and mediums including the provision of content for websites and social media platforms.
- Planning, managing and prioritising communications and engagement activities to successfully meet deadlines and reporting requirements within tight time constraints.
- Event planning including the preparation of event specific materials including briefing notes, function profiles, program schedules and event run sheets.
- Stakeholder relationship management using consultative, interpersonal skills to successfully communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Providing high level advice to clients, staff and management within the division to assist with urgent media issues and crisis communications.
- Working effectively and collaboratively within a team environment to meet deadlines and establish work priorities to maximise efficiency.
- Tertiary qualifications in communication, public relations, journalism or related discipline with subsequent relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training in the industry will be highly regarded.
- Experience working in communications team, on stakeholder engagement on various projects, campaigns and initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work with various internal stakeholders to support the achievement of business objectives through communication activities.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills, including a demonstrated ability to write with clarity and precision for multiple audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain various communication channels and creative content for both digital and print.
