About The Role & Location

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Metallurgist to join the Technical Services team at Cataby, primarily as the Process Lead.

The Cataby mining operation is located near the Town of Dandaragan, approximately 150 kilometres north of Perth. This position is offered on a Drive in Drive out (DIDO) basis, on a family-friendly 5/2 4/3 roster. You won’t have to worry about flight delays or weekends away from your loved ones. If you need to be home urgently, you can be! If you don’t live residentially and need to stay at our camp? No problem, we offer great facilities to ensure you have everything you need.

Reporting directly to the Technical Services Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring that all the metallurgical and process engineering requirements pertaining to mine development projects at Cataby are met technically, and within budget and schedule.

Specific responsibilities will be:

• Lead and mentor a team of Metallurgists, Processing Specialist and Process Control Specialist to ensure optimal processing, recovery and tailings functions.
• Provide technical leadership on specific projects from concept through to design, implementation and commissioning.
• Consultation and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure product quality is in line with customer needs and further downstream processing constraints.
• Participate in the continual review of processing capabilities and requirements for recommendation and implementation.
• Manage metallurgical test work on various scales to validate or enhance plant performance.
• Develop and manage process simulation tools with the ability to predict and forecast performance.
• Management of end of month reconciliation process for Production accounting.
   

About You

To be successful for this role, you will have:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Process Engineering or Metallurgy.
• Experience with process unit operations in a mineral processing environment, such as wet gravity and magnetic separation, tailings consolidation, pumping and piping systems, and process control instrumentation.
• Strong technical skills supported by practical and innovative ways of thinking are essential for this position.
• Strong technical writing and reporting capability.
• Experience in design, execution, and commissioning of sustainable capital projects.
