AddressLocated at our vibrant Mount Waverley Office, you will be tasked with designing and integrating new technologies in the Network and Cybersecurity realms, while simultaneously ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of existing Network and Security infrastructures.
Key responsibilities encompass providing guidance and consultation on network platform strategies, developing roadmaps and blueprints, and establishing governance protocols.
Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure, Security & Operations, your responsibilities will include:
- Lead development of the network project designs that supports the current transition and future states and strategic business needs.
- Develop enterprise-wide Frameworks and Roadmaps and heat maps that can be used by all teams to guide the solution decisions.
- Take responsibility for investigative work to determine requirements and specify effective business processes, through improvements in the network technical domain.
- Maintain awareness of current network regulatory, technology standards and ensures the architectures comply with these standards.
- Identify (or co-ordinates the identification and assessment of) new and emerging network and cybersecurity technologies, products, services, methods and techniques and evaluates the likely relevance and potential value to Metricon.
- Review the performance and availability, audit compliance and risk of current architectures and initiative remediation activities.
- Contribute to knowledge management and create knowledge artefacts and repeatable processes to share with the broader technology team. Incorporate tacit, implicit and explicit knowledge and consider the knowledge flow.
- Commercial awareness, understanding how actions contribute to improving production and controlling costs.
- Ensure effective linkage and communication between the team, business stakeholders, broader IT groups, and external service providers.
- Proactively interact with other technology employees to ensure customer needs are met.
- Achieve additional activities or capabilities outside of your core responsibilities to add value to the team and advised by your Leader.

- Bachelor qualification in Computer Science, engineering or related discipline;
- 8+ years’ experience in the Networking field.
- 3+ years’ experience with direct or indirect engagement with Cybersecurity practices.
- Proven experience in solution design and implementation across network and security.
- Delivered successfully delivered major business solutions into production and leading implementations.
- Experienced with diverse supplier and resource models, including matrix, managed services, and multiple suppliers.
- Translates business objectives into cost-effective, highly available network solutions, demonstrating proactive innovation.
- Experience in agile delivery methodologies.
- Sound knowledge of the below:
- SDWAN Technologies (preferably Velo Cloud)
- Routing (predominately OSPF, BGP)
- Data Centre and Branch Switching (Cisco Nexus, Catalyst and Meraki range)
- WiFi (Cisco)
- Carrier WAN Services (MPLS, NBN, LTE)
- Cisco Call Manger and UCCX Platforms
- UCCX Platform (Including 3rd party voice recording, management software)
- F5 Load Balancer Environments
- Checkpoint Firewall (Firewall, IPS/IDS, URL & Application Filtering)
- SIEM Solutions
- Darktrace
- PEN Testing
- Design experience in solutions across the LAN/WAN and VOIP areas.
- Demonstrate team leadership and people management skills.
- Captures and manages ideas, conducts research to meet current and future business needs.
- Demonstrate experience working in SDWAN environments.
- Demonstrate knowledge of testing methodologies, release cycles and processes.
- Demonstration knowledge of defect management processes & incident severity processes/SLA’s
- Familiarity with information systems management practices (e.g., ITIL, SDLC, etc.)
- Manages stakeholder relationships throughout business change.
- Proficient in technical and non-technical documentation.
- Possesses extensive knowledge of Security, Information Security, Backup, and Disaster Recovery design.
- Driver license required to travel to remote offices.
This role requires a national police check to be undertaken.
