This is a permanent, full time and hybrid role, working from home and the office.

The role:

The Senior Network Engineer, reporting to the IT Network Engineering Manager, will collaborate with our Architecture and Operations Team to implement and support enterprise LAN and WAN technologies. This role includes being part of the firewall administration team, supporting firewall services across the core, edge, and cloud. Additionally, the engineer will mentor others to enhance troubleshooting capabilities. Shape the future of road safety by developing solutions that save lives.

As a Senior Network Engineer at Verra Mobility you will:

• Provide in-depth technical support to Verra Mobility customers and employees.
• Partner with Engineering, Software Development, Dev Ops, and Operations teams to enhance customer experience and support IT operations.
• Design, deploy, and maintain highly available and secure networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN).
• Implement secure network solutions using CheckPoint, VMware NSX, Aruba Wireless, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Azure, and AWS.
• Serve as a senior escalation point for troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure issues and mentor team members.
• Create, oversee, and test business availability and security measures, and maintain thorough technical documentation.

Who are you?

With 7+ years of experience supporting and deploying enterprise-level networks with multiple data centers and managing enterprise-class firewalls you should possess in-depth knowledge of communication protocols (TCP/IP), routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and network and firewall administration and architecture. Familiarity with access control models and network security, along with experience in configuring and installing various network devices and services (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS), is essential. Tertiary studies in IT, professional certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCDP), and a solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model are desirable. The role also involves performing network maintenance and system upgrades, including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations. Your problem-solving skills, attention to detail, effective communication, adaptability, and collaborative mindset make you an ideal fit.
