About your opportunity
Senior Occupational Therapist - Mental Health Clinician / Permanent full-time
To provide flexible Mental Health assessment and treatment to adults with Mental Health difficulties living in the community within a supportive multidisciplinary team environment. To provide short, medium and long-term case management so that various services and supports are provided in a coordinated and collaborative manner.
To provide profession specific services and consultation as required within the team and the Mental Health Service Group.
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Participate as a member of the community Mental Health team in providing comprehensive Mental Health assessment, case management, intervention or group work as required within a multidisciplinary framework, ensuring the implementation of individual assessment, diagnosis, treatment, follow up, multidisciplinary consultation, liaison with referring agents, discharge planning and evaluation of care using appropriate outcome and data measurement systems.
- Provide input in the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols relating to community Mental Health and occupational therapy practice.
- Participate in education for relevant health and related service providers in the provision of appropriate staff development programs for health professionals, community-based services, community groups, families and individuals.
- Participate in the identification, development and implementation of quality and service improvement activities that enhance the delivery of Mental Health and occupational therapy services within the local service area.
- Provide clinical education and/or practice supervision pertaining to routine tasks for students and less experienced staff with the support of the Team Leader.
- Salary range of $124,435 to $133,901 p.a. (HP4)
- Annual leave with 17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.
Requirements
- The successful applicant must hold a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification from an accredited tertiary institution in Occupational Therapy. Registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia is required.
- Proof of qualification, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
- Possession of relevant post-registration and/or tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy would be well regarded for a position at this level.
- Eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Mental Health Act 2016 would be well regarded.
- This position requires the incumbent to operate a class 'C' motor vehicle, and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided before commencement of duty.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
