Form of work• The Preventative Integrated Care Service delivers (PICS) will provide a rapid response (review within 24-48 hours) for intensive sub-acute medical management, delivered by a specialised medical, nurse practitioner and allied health team with a disease specific focus through flexible and varied modalities
• Temporary Part Time opportunity until 30th June 2024
• 38 Hours per fortnight
About the role
As the Occupational Therapist Senior, the role will involve providing high level assessment and intervention to patients receiving care from PICS. As a senior member of PICS this role will also provide clinical leadership and service development.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- A high level of knowledge, expertise, and skill in contemporary clinical practice standards for adult physical occupational therapy services relevant to PICS as recognised by clinical experience, professional development activities, post graduate education or formal qualifications.
- Broad understanding of the continuum of care, and well developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, including the ability to work autonomously and flexibly with initiative in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Build rapport with patients and demonstrate empathy, patience and respect in delivering a flexible service that meets patient's needs, in accordance with organisational goals.
- Applies clinical evidence that support continuous improvement, including the ability to initiate, plan and evaluate local quality and service improvement activities.
- Demonstrated commitment to education and training including supervision of students and staff, as well as ongoing continuing professional development.
- High level organisational skills, including the ability to effectively prioritise clinical caseloads and non-clinical tasks, and the ability to provide leadership and direction to students, HP3 clinical staff and assistants.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Appointment to this position requires proof of a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Occupational Therapy and full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Occupational Therapist. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
