This is a Pool process with permanent, full time opportunities for substantive Prison Officers in the WA Prison Service.

Currently, there are three (3) permanent positions available for immediate filling.

As a Senior Prison Officer you will be supported in your role and be encouraged to build on your team building skills by leading by example and managing and monitoring staff performance by providing effective feedback.

Your knowledge of health, social and cultural issues along with current policies and procedures of the Department will be valued. Recording and entering accurate information into Total Offender Management Solution (TOMS) is a must.

We require you to submit:

  • A current CV including the contact details of two (2) recent work referees and;
  • A statement addressing the following Work related requirements contained in the JDF and your TOMS experience.
    Please provide examples to support your claims.
  1. Staff management, team building and maintaining relationships.
  2. Continuous improvement
  3. Knowledge
  4. Experience using TOMS

All remaining Work related requirements will be assessed at a later stage in the recruitment process.

Pool Recruitment

This pool will be open for a period of 12 months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. Permanent, full time appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.

The Department of Justice uses recruitment pools to build a bank of talent for future opportunities. Applicants found suitable in this pool, may be considered for subsequent, similar vacancies at similar locations, with the Department of Justice for the duration of the pool.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must:

  • Be a substantive Prison Officer in the WA Prison Service.
  • Possess a current ‘C’ class motor vehicle driver’s licence.
  • Possess a valid Senior First Aid qualification (or equivalent) received from an accredited training provider
