Lifeline Australia is a national suicide prevention charity providing all Australians experiencing emotional distress with access to 24-hour crisis support and suicide prevention services. They are committed to empowering Australians to be suicide-safe through connection, compassion and hope. This is achieved through a partnership of over 10,000 committed volunteers and their member centres in communities across the nation.

ROLE

The Senior Partnerships Manager is a critical role within the Fundraising function at Lifeline Australia supporting the Head of Strategic Partnerships and Campaigns, to retain and extend strategic relationships with Lifeline’s existing top tier partners and corporate supporters. The role is key in generating primarily unrestricted revenue for Lifeline from organisations, as well as facilitating partner participation in key campaigns and fundraising events.

The Senior Partnerships Manager has a strong account management focus, with high impact and influence on others but does support the acquisition of corporate supporters below the threshold of $150K per year. The role works closely with the Head of Strategic Partnerships and Campaigns and the National Manager, Partner Acquisition, to transition new multi-year, strategic brand partnership opportunities into the Partnerships team for activation and management. You will also work closely with the Marketing team and Campaigns team to identify and leverage campaign ideas and initiatives to increase value from existing partnerships.

The Fundraising team is currently raising $19M+ per year from a range of fundraising activities. There is a need to grow fundraising revenue strategically, with a goal of achieving $35m over the next 3 years, and to leverage a portfolio of multi-year high value, brand aligned partners to diversify the revenue portfolio.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the Head of Strategic Partnerships and Campaigns to design and implement a strategy to retain a portfolio of brand aligned, multi-year corporate partnerships
  • Manage a growing portfolio of retained partners including agreeing, implementing and reporting on annual Activation plans for each partner.
  • Work with the Head of Strategic Partnerships and Campaigns and Partnership team to identify and convert growth opportunities within current partnerships and also support the acquisition of corporate supporters below the threshold of $150K per year.
  • Understand the strategic objectives of the partnership portfolio and support the Head of Strategic Partnerships and Campaigns and the National Manager Partner Acquisition in the acquisition of new partners as required
  • Responsible for managing and executing the renewal process for the partnership agreements in their portfolio within the contracted timeframes
  • Develop and execute creative integrated marketing campaign ideas in-conjunction with corporate partners
  • Detailed reporting (quarterly or to deadline) on partnerships and relevant Lifeline updates communicated to partners in timely manner
  • Implement first class partner management practices and initiatives to deliver excellence in partner service, create and maximise value for partners and Lifeline
  • Leverage the networks of Lifeline’s CEO, Board and Executive to activate existing partners
  • Work closely, openly and collaboratively with the broader Fundraising team to maximise net revenue from fundraising
  • Contribute to the improvement of all Corporate Fundraising processes.
  • Proactively network and present the Lifeline message at various corporate events and forums
  • Create compelling presentations, project plans, reports and other types of communication to connect with diverse audiences, including partners, board members and colleagues; regularly track progress and report back to partners
  • Collaborate with National Manager – Strategic Partnerships, Marketing and Communications, Research and Operations teams to deliver on partnership agreements and report on impact
  • Build and report on budget and forecasts for all partnership activity, providing monthly reporting to the Executive on agreed key metrics including lead generation, pipeline and conversion
  • Responsible for capturing impact and other data and contributing to the partnerships team’s regular management reports
  • Document and keep updated all proposals and contracts, and monitor all partnerships within the CRM to secure corporate knowledge and maximise relationship potential all partnerships
  • Follow the supporter first philosophy and work within the supporter care framework, partnerships intention and partnerships frameworks outlined in the Fundraising Strategy
  • Any other duties as reasonably requested of manager and to support team members, projects and/or tasks within the team.

REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing or a relevant business-related discipline

Experience

  • Minimum five years working in sponsorship, commercial partnership or account management role with a successful track record in the delivery of sponsorship/partnership benefits and activations and the achievement of revenue targets.
  • Proven ability in managing relationships/high value commercial contracts with external and high-level stakeholders
  • Entrepreneurial drive, passion and ability to develop fresh approaches and innovate as appropriate
  • Effective collaboration with cross functional teams and project management skills that drive the successful implementation of partnership campaigns and initiatives
  • Excellent negotiation, persuasion and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise, manage multiple tasks and work in a high velocity environment to achieve targets and meet competing deadlines
  • Experience in analysing and using supporter and commercial data to inform decision making.
  • Highly developed critical thinking, research and analytical skills
  • Mature, charismatic personality possessing the style, stature, leadership and diplomacy required to work effectively with senior staff, leadership volunteers and high value supporters.
  • High level of energy, initiative and creativity
  • High competency in using Excel and Salesforce or a similar CRM
