Let’s talk about this role

As the Senior Payroll Analyst, you will work as part of a team overseeing the accurate, efficient, and timely processing of all payrolls for nib companies. You will provide mentoring and support to the payroll team and resolve payroll related issues within our internal team ensuring compliance with legislation, company policies and awards whilst driving efficiencies.

You will prepare, analyse and reconcile data reporting for the team, the broader Finance division, nib business and externally to resolve a variety of technical issues whilst creating strong working relationships.

Let’s talk about you

This a senior position within the team, you will need to be experienced in providing analytical support in a similar environment, able to resolve payroll related issues, technical issues and prepare, analyse and reconcile data reporting.

Your strong communication skills and natural ability to mentor, train, empower and motivate the team, will allow you the ability to influence and build strong working relationships across all levels. 

Your previous experience running payroll processing coupled with your understanding of Australian payroll legislation and employment tax law will ensure your success in this role. You will possess demonstrated experience in interpreting awards, company policy, individual contracts and enterprise agreements in addition to strong knowledge of statutory requirements and regulations such as superannuation, leave and payroll tax. 

Furthermore we’re looking for:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role in a medium to large organisation

  • Advanced excel skills - including pivot tables, vlookups, IF statements

  • Methodical with a strong attention to detail

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills including demonstrated ability in reconciliations

  • Manage and resolve ad-hoc queries from across the business, enabling effective decision making, including Compliance and Audit requirements

  • Experience using Chris 21 and/or Workday is desirable
