We are committed to our vision of 'better health services for the people of western Sydney and beyond' and to the delivery of health care or related services in line with our core values of collaboration, openness, respect and empowerment.What you'll be doingThe primary purpose of Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Clinician (PIMHC) is to improve the wellbeing and ensure better outcomes for pregnant women and mothers with mental health problems, their infants, families and carers.
The PIMHC work with pregnant woman or mother with a live infant (singleton or multiple) up to 24 months age and who is experiencing severe and complex mental health problems or illness; and who is an existing client of a local public mental health service.Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Services (PIMHS) support mothers to remain living in the community with their babies and families and reduce hospital stays by coordinating intensive mental health care through hospital in-reach and in-home services.Benefits of working for Western Sydney Local Health District

- Registration: Current Registration: Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse/ Psychologist/ Occupational Therapist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or eligibility to be a member of the AASW as a Social Worker
- Demonstrated experience in working with parents and families with infants experiencing severe and complex psycho social and psychiatric problems in the perinatal period with demonstrated knowledge of the impact of mental health problems and mental illness on parenting, parent – infant relationships and infant development.
- Demonstrated clinical leadership skills and experience in clinical teaching.
- Demonstrated knowledge of computerised information systems and proven ability to utilise research / quality improvement strategies to effect changes in clinical practice.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
- Capacity to act as an independent consultant with excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Current Drivers Licence valid within Australia.
