AddressOur Client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Town Planner to join their dynamic team in the inner CBD suburbs of Sydney. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education or medical planning, with a proven track record of over 5 years in the field. This role requires a strategic thinker who can manage complex projects, engage with stakeholders, and contribute to the sustainable development of urban areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage town planning projects with a focus on educational and medical clients and projects.
- Conduct site analysis, feasibility studies, and prepare detailed planning reports.
- Develop and implement planning strategies that align with local and state regulations.
- Liaise with clients, government agencies, and community stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
- Provide expert advice on zoning, land use, and development applications.
- Prepare and present proposals at public hearings and community meetings.
- Mentor and support junior planning staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in urban planning.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Town Planning, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in town planning, with a focus on educational or medical projects.
- In-depth knowledge of NSW planning legislation and policies.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in planning software and tools.
- Experience in managing large-scale planning projects within the inner CBD suburbs.
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex regulatory and compliance issues.
- Proven track record in stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution.
- Membership or eligibility for membership with the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA).
