About this role
The candidate would fit into an established technical consulting team based in Brisbane, working with a broader cohort of regionally based energy professionals. The role's focus is to assist on a range of Australian and international assignments in the energy and renewable power sector from small scale generation to utility sized generation and storage. Technology would cover solar PV, battery energy storage, offshore/onshore wind, pumped hydro energy storage, and hydrogen.
Relevant workstreams would cover Power Systems studies, grid connection modelling, renewable energy studies, and front-end engineering design.
The candidate would be primarily involved in assisting with network modelling (steady state and dynamic) associated with the preparation of Generator Performance Standards (GPS); Releasable User Guides (RUG) and other technical documentation associated with the submission of Connection Agreements and Generator Registrations on behalf of generators who wish to connect to the National Energy Market(NEM).
What will I do?
Work as part of a team on a variety of renewable energy projects, covering biomass, solar PV, battery energy storage, offshore wind, pumped hydro energy storage, hydrogen.
Work within a team and assist defined parts of design projects.
Ensure the quality and accuracy of your work.
Represent your team or area at internal meetings and you may be responsible for organising activities or small internal business projects.
Assist others with their work and ensure that deadlines are met.
What will I bring?
A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
Relevant industry experience in Power Systems
Relevant experience with Python, PSCAD, PSSE, Powerfactory a plus
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
Enthusiasm to develop technical and commercial knowledge outside of thermal generation sector by working on projects in the renewables, waste & resources and utilities sectors would be advantageous.
