Your Purpose:
We are looking for a Data Scientist/Actuary with strong technical and communication capability to identify opportunities to improve growth and profitability across the products/customer segments in the portfolio.
What you’ll do:
- Perform Competitor price botting and competitor price deconstruction
- Drive innovation in risk model, utilising machine learning techniques (eg. GLM, GBM, random forest, etc)
- Driving new approaches/modelling and understanding of the portfolio/customers
- The main focus is CTP, but there is opportunities to extend to Workers Compensation & other commercial products
- Engage business stakeholders to understand objectives and effectively communicate pricing opportunities and recommendations
What you will bring:
- Preferably Data Scientist or Near/New Fellow of Institute of Actuaries of Australia
- Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science etc
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in general insurance pricing, other Data Scientist or actuarial roles
- Strong Modelling knowledge (eg. GLM, GBM, etc)
- Experience in using R or Python (Essential)
- Experience with SQL and database systems.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI (knowledge of R Shiny is well regarded)
- Knowledge of CTP insurance products and insurance P&L is well regarded.
- Good communication and presentation skills
