About the role
Reporting to the Design Manager you will combine your end-to-end product design skills to problem solve and create compelling, personalised experiences that support and empower all Victorians. Think low/no touch, effortless interactions which follow universally accessible patterns. You will Partner with cross-functional iterative product teams, working closely with product managers, product owners, content designers, architects, engineers, researchers and other partners to translate interaction and visual interface experiences into reality within the Service Victoria app.
Our ideal candidate
- Demonstrates having led the gathering of data and insights through research to drive design solutions that are aesthetic, exhibit originality and innovation, considering the end-to-end customer experience, and validating solutions through testing. Has a strong understanding of incorporating user and customer-centric approaches and applying data when testing and validating.
- A solid background in UI app design experience at an enterprise or scaled level. Has contributed to and helped to grow integrated design systems, considering digital inclusion and design for our customers who have accessibility needs.
- A strong understanding of visual design and web design foundations, including typography, grid systems, Atomic Design Methodology, Responsive Web Design, designing for mobile apps using HIG and Material Design; and advanced proficiency in design tools, such as Figma for high-fidelity UI designs, Figjam or Miro for collaboration, and Jira for project management.
- Demonstrates having worked in cross functional product teams, managing stakeholders both internally and externally, moving design work through stage gates end-to-end. Strong communications, relationship management, and presentation skills are key to this role. Can advocate for great design outcomes within regulatory and policy requirements.
- Extensive experience in commercial design, either in an agency or client/corporate setting. Qualifications in design, technology, or a related field are advantageous. Formal training in human-centered design, animation, UX, or research is highly desirable.
