NSW Department of Education has an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced individual to join School Infrastructure NSW as a Senior Program Officer.  

About the role

Lead a team responsible for undertaking condition and functionality assessments across NSW schools to meet specialised program and stakeholder requirements and ensure a consistent and considered approach to the management of school assets.

About you

·        Highly developed project planning, coordination, and management skills

·        Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve conflict and negotiate satisfactory outcomes

·        Ability to respond quickly to change and adopt a flexible and innovative approach to problems and opportunities.

·        Knowledge of, and commitment to, the Department’s Work, Health and Safety (WH&S) policy.

·        Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

·        Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent workplace experience in engineering, facilities management, building services, or a related field

·        Current NSW Drivers Licence and willingness to travel across the assigned Asset Management Unit (AMU) area.

·        Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education

In this role you are responsible for leading a team to gather and update asset related data. Give an example of how you have managed a similar program and describe what systems you used and how you maintained consistency throughout the team and information received? (300 words maximum)

Targeted Question 2

This role will require you to lead a team who work remotely. Give an example of how you have led a team to ensure deadlines are met and clear communication is provided to stakeholders. Give an example of how you have done this and what were the methods you used? (300 words maximum)

Note: the selection process will include a range of assessment techniques to assist in determining your suitability for the role.

Successful candidates will be required to undertake pre-employment screening for this role which includes a National Criminal History Check.
