ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Policy Officer on behalf of our client in the Government Sector. This role is based in St Leonards with hybrid working options. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and implementation of best practice policies, programs, and strategies related to violence prevention and response.
YOUR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, review, and evaluate policies, programs, and projects related to violence prevention and response.
- Provide expert advice and support to senior executives and staff within Business Unit and external stakeholders.
- Prepare high-quality written reports, briefs, and policy documents.
- Collaborate with public health organizations and government agencies to ensure effective policy implementation.
- Lead and participate in research initiatives to inform policy development.
KEY CHALLENGES:
- Completing projects within agreed timeframes and performance standards while also managing a fluctuating workload of other tasks.
- Maintaining accurate knowledge of the diverse and complex policy framework within the Business Unit and related agencies in relation to the prevention of and response to violence, abuse, and neglect.
- Maintaining a perspective when researching and developing policy advice on the prevention of and response to violence, abuse, and neglect policy and reform.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Double vaccination certificate.
- Substantial experience in policy development and advice.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications.
